It is the objective of Suppawtive Health Solutions to restore and promote your pet’s health through natural therapies including massage, nutrition, herbal remedies and flower essences. A holistic approach to treating your pet means that we don't just treat the symptoms of a diagnosed illness but we treat the cause; and mental and emotional health is just as important to us as physical health. A happy, healthy pet is one that is both physically and emotionally healthy.
What we do
At Suppawtive Health Solutions we take a holistic approach to treating your pet. This means we look at the physical, emotional and mental health of your pet and determine the best course of treatment individualised to your pet. We will assess your pets health and diet and advise you on how to improve your pet’s health, strengthen its immune system and prevent or support medically diagnosed (by a vet) health conditions naturally. Please note we do not provide medical diagnosis and recommend you seek veterinary assistance for diagnosis of any health condition.
A consult with us will begin by taking a history of your pets medical history, diet, exercise regime, physical condition and concerns or observations of the pet owner.
Depending on your pets illness a treatment of massage therapy, nutritional changes, herbal remedies or flowers essences may be prescribed alone, or they may be combined together for optimum effect. In some instances we may also recommend behaviour management and training with a positive reinforcement trainer in combination with natural therapies.
After the consult we will develop a holistic treatment plan specific for your pet and its individual needs. By combining massage, nutritional, herbal and flower essence therapies we work together to restore your pet's physical, emotional and mental health.

Suppawtive Health Solutions believe wellbeing includes the physical and mental health of an animal which is why we support and promote the Five Freedoms, created by the UK Farm Animal Welfare Council:
Freedom from hunger or thirst by ready access to fresh water and a diet to maintain full health and vigour
Freedom from discomfort by providing an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable resting area
Freedom from pain, injury or disease by providing appropriate preventative measures, along with rapid diagnosis and treatment
Freedom to express normal behaviour by providing for species specific requirements with respect to space, enrichment and social needs
Freedom from fear and distress by ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering
The food an animal eats should provide all of its nutritional needs for all organs and systems of the body to be healthy, work together and function properly. Nutrition influences the health and wellbeing of animals, with nutritional deficiencies giving rise to emotional, physical, behavioural and nervous disorders. An animals overall health is vastly improved by modifying its diet. When diagnosed with a specific health condition changing your pets diet can actually restore it to full health and wellbeing. As qualified nutritionists we discuss how you can supplement your pets current diet for optimum health or assist you in transitioning your pet from a commercial pet food onto a natural, species appropriate diet.
Herbal medicine involves the therapeutic use of plants to create remedies to treat physical illness and many conditions including immune related illnesses, chronic illness, diarrhoea, fungal infections and skin problems. Herbs work by stimulating the body's own natural responses so they have a more gradual healing effect than orthodox medicines. As qualified herbalists we will discuss with you which herbs your pet needs nutritionally; or for the treatment of various illnesses or natural parasite control
Flower essences can be used to treat emotional imbalances in pets such as anxiety, stress, fearfulness, chronic illness, pain and grief, although their efficacy is not scientifically proven. Anxiety and stress can lead to physical illness in pets including diarrhoea, urinary tract infections, skin issues and behavioural problems. Reducing stress and anxiety in pets enables us to focus on healing the physical illness in your pet. Flower essences are complementary and restorative in nature and work together with herbal and nutritional remedies without contradiction. We blend a flower essence unique to your pets individual emotional needs.
Massage and Bowen therapy are effective and therapeutic physical therapies used to prevent and assist healing of musculoskeletal conditions and acute injuries. It is recommended for dogs of all ages but is especially advised for senior dogs, dogs with degenerative conditions such as hip dysplasia and arthritis, post-operative recovery, performance and working dogs. As qualified therapists we assess your dog's gait and muscle tone to identify musculosketal problems and areas of pain and inflammation. We then gently massage your dog to improve muscle elasticity, improve range of movement and assist the body to heal.
